Training & experience

Working as part of the surgical team at the Royal Marsden tertiary referral centre, Miss Simoes broadened her knowledge, skills and experience of breast surgery treatment to include Family History and Genetics, in addition to reconstructive surgical options at the Royal Marsden in London.
Shortly after, she produced updates on studies to address the accuracy of results in the use of Sentinel Node Biopsy in Breast Cancer patients, with the largest data set in Europe. Further, she was part of the team that introduced the therapeutic approach of breast reduction, which has offered many women an option of breast conservation versus a mastectomy.

Interests

Miss Simoes continues to strive to offer the best experience for all of her Breast Cancer patients and is an advocate of working closely with Anaesthetic colleagues in the use of local anaesthetic blocks aimed at reducing the association between chronic pain in post-operative patients.

Miss Simoes maintains a long-standing interest in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and is a strong advocate of an Oncoplastic approach for all Breast Surgery, the reconstructive elements of which are also offered by our Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon colleague, Mr Horlock.
